PAYAP Yunus Social Business Center

A social business is a non-dividend business whose aim is to solve a social problem through business methods. It is different from both a traditional personal profit-making business and a not-for-profit organization.
Payap University has established the Payap Yunus Social Business Center to implement the seven principles of Yunus Social Business as follows:
The Payap-Yunus Social Business Center (PYSBC) aims to serve as a hub for disseminating the concepts and practices of social business, fostering understanding among students and researchers at the university. The center adheres to the principles of Professor Muhammad Yunus, Nobel Prize laureate, and is committed to conducting research, providing education, developing academic programs and curricula, engaging in action research, and organizing knowledge-sharing activities related to social business, such as competitions, workshops, and seminars. Additionally, PYSBC seeks innovative methods and approaches to expand the concept of social business to students, researchers, and broader communities and regions, creating a positive impact aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The center also aims to inspire students to see the importance of sustainable solutions in addressing global challenges, urging the new generation to drive change based on the “three zeros” principles: 1) Zero Poverty, 2) Zero Unemployment, and 3) Zero Net Carbon Emission.

Objectives:

1. Collaborate with and support university activities in academics, research, and academic services through the center.
2.Promote, develop, and support all components of the social entrepreneurship ecosystem.
3.Create a positive impact on society in alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
4.Conduct activities and projects based on social entrepreneurship principles.
5.Develop and establish units that operate according to social entrepreneurship principles, such as Social Business, Social Enterprise, Microfinance, etc.
6.Build strong cooperative networks with Yunus-related agencies, organizations, and institutions both domestically and internationally.
7.Establish robust collaborative networks with relevant agencies, organizations, and institutions both domestically and internationally.
8.Operate in a self-sustaining manner.
